Candle Care

Storing your RuSoy Candle
Soy wax is a natural product and it can sometimes react to different temperatures.
To limit the discolouration of your RuSoy candle try to keep your candle at room temperature and out of direct sunlight.  If you notice that your candle changes colour please do not be alarmed as this will not affect the burn of your candle in any way.
The importance of the first burn of your RuSoy candle
When you light your RuSoy candle for the first time and every time thereafter allow the wax to melt across the full surface of your candle, right up to the sides of the container.
When you follow these steps, you will prevent tunnelling and stop the candle from forming a crater.  By allowing your candle to melt evenly you will help ensure that you achieve a consistent and longer lasting candle as well as producing the most effective ‘hot fragrance throw’

Regularly trim the wick of your RuSoy candle

Our RuSoy candles are all made using a pure cotton wick entwined with a paper braid.  They are also zinc and lead free.  To prevent the "mushroom" effect and more importantly to get the most out of your RuSoy Candle we recommend trimming the wick after every use to 4-5mm.

RuSoy Chandler’s tip!

If you notice any tunnelling or cratering simply use a hairdryer to melt the top layer of your candle to even out the surface.  Use the hair dryer with caution and very gently, that way you will avoid any splashing of wax.

How to safely burn your RuSoy candle

RuSoy candles are all handmade with love and designed to provide joy, however it is important to us that you try to follow some simple steps when burning your candles.

Never leave a burning candle unattended

Place your candle on a stable heat resistant surface.

Keep your candle out of the reach of children and pets.

Ensure your candle is placed away from anything flammable.

If burning multiple candles keep them at least 10cm apart.

Do not burn your candle if the glass container is cracked, chipped or damaged in any way.

Trim the wick to 4-5mm before every burn.

Ensure the wax pool is kept free from any foreign objects or wick debris.

Do not burn your candle for longer than the recommended maximum burning time.

Handle your candle with care as containers may become hot.
